Scene Kids?

Jeff and I went to the farewell show for a favorite local band, Small Towns Burn a Little Slower, this weekend. I'm a pretty boring person so it's been awhile since I've been to a show where a) Jeff's band is not playing and b) scene kids are present. We chose to attend the 'all ages' show, so the scene kids were in abundance.

What blew me away was that apparently scene girls are influenced by Amy Winehouse first and foremost when it comes to hair these days. A word to the wise: Amy Winehouse can pull it off, in part to the fact that everyone knows she nuts. 15-year-olds in Minneapolis should not rat their hair and try to get it as tall as possible.

Despite the scene kids, the show was enjoyable. It was fun to raise my fist in the air one more time shouting, "Last Call!"

I'm trying to get some work done in this coffeeshop by our place, but they are playing what seems to be the soundtrack to 'snow white' in here. It makes it hard to concentrate because I keep having to stop and say, 'seriously?'

I've decided I'm driving to Des Moines tomorrow to see my ex-roommate. Sounds like a boring drive, but I've already checked and there's at least two Sonics on the way. Cherry limeade for me!!!

it's been quite a while, guys, but as you can see, I'm finally reaching the finish line! This past weekend I had my graduation ceremony, which my whole family came up for, and that was such a great thing for me. Plus, Jeff and I recently moved into an amazing new place, and now are enjoying posh amenities, such as full-size bathtub (which I am enjoying almost every night), washer/dryer, and (gasp) thermostat. We also painted this last week, which was such a pain, but in the end I think was worth is. We went with 'Corral Fence' (brown) and 'Victorian Red' (red).
This is the fam:

and Jeff & I...

I still have to complete over half of my internship hours in family therapy, and it has been a grueling process, to say the least. I finally left my internship site that was pretty much refusing to let me do family therapy (my sole reason for being there), and am now getting most of my hours in a private practice. I'm supposed to be done by August 15th, and am really hoping a miracle takes place and this happens, because I am so ready to move on and get a job, instead of working for free.
So other than interning this summer, I am looking forward to sunning on my rooftop deck with a good book, family reunion-ing in North Carolina with the in-laws, and (what I'm really looking forward to) a week in Florida on the beach with our good friends Jenn and Ryan.
And maybe I will frequent the Xanga more, but no promises

for those of you who don't know, I work as a counselor for teenage girls. Last night, for some reason, I agreed to let the girls do my hair, and the result is what you see in my profile pic. To make matters worse, I still had my hair like that this morning when jeff and I went to the bakery and ran into the counselor I am hoping to intern for.

I recently decided the only thing I like about winter is... boots.
well, maybe mittens too, the smoker's kind. and scarves i guess, but that's it.
During Project Runway this year I really wanted to move to Miami so I could wear Uli's summery dresses all the time. But I've never been to Miami, and was told by those who have that I don't really want to live there. My friend Danielle says I should wear the summery dresses over jeans here, but we all know that's not the same.
But still, I shouldn't live in Minneapolis.

This weekend Jeff and I took cross country skiing lessons. It was fun but pretty cold, and I was quite sore.
I might add this to my list of things I like about winter, but I haven't decided yet.
